Cheer and roving, Ch. 3.5

September 14, 2012

Some late July–early September highlights from AHS’s public education campaign “trail”—

Beating (grateful) feet. Continuing the logistics scramble toward events during Affordable Housing Education Week, 9/15–21.  Grateful for the support of many community partners, especially the Rosslyn BID, the Columbia Pike Revitalization Organization, the Clarendon Alliance, and AHC, Inc.

We didn’t win any ribbons @ the County Fair, but it was great to meet so any community supporters, answer questions, and just generally spread the word about the importance of affordable housing to Arlington’s diversity and sustainability.

Telling the story. Thanks to the League of Women Voters (LWV), the National Active and Retired Federal Employees Association (NARFE), the Dominion Hills, Lyon Park, and Waycroft-Woodlawn Civic Associations for inviting us to present.

Helping us tell the story. Thanks also to many faith communities in Arlington for helping distribute our educational materials: Arlington United Methodist, Cherrydale United Methodist, Little Falls Presbyterian, NOVA Catholic Community, Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic, Resurrection Evangelical Lutheran, and St. John’s Episcopal.
