Jay Fisette, a “tireless advocate for affordable housing across the commonwealth” received the 2018 Bozman Award on December 2.
On Sunday, December 3rd, 2017, the Alliance for Housing Solutions Ellen M. Bozman Affordable Housing Award celebration recognized three organizations whose commitment to affordable housing was demonstrated through collaboration in the preservation efforts in Westover.
The 2016 Ellen M. Bozman Affordable Housing Award recognized twenty Arlingtonians whose commitment helped bring about the County's first Affordable Housing Master Plan.
The 2015 Ellen M. Bozman Affordable Housing Award was shared by recipients who have helped build Foundations for affordable housing in Arlington, through policy and leadership or through financial support.
On December 7, 2014, AHS honored eleven Housing [S]heroes with the annual Ellen M. Bozman Affordable Housing Award, with 140 community leaders in attendance. The recipients of the award, many who could trace their activism over several decades, pushed back against the status quo to create conditions for the Arlington we know today. In honor of our [S]heroes’ service, AHS made a special donation to Doorways for Women and Families.
On Sunday, December 8, 2013, AHS celebrated the collective impact of corporate, group, and individual commitment to Arlington's affordable housing. The focus of the award ceremony was on the efforts to retain affordable housing in the Columbia Pike corridor. Honorees spoke about the behind the scenes work required to preserve housing in the Pike - citing long hours, countless conversations with people open to change, and the commitment of the community.
The 2012 Ellen M. Bozman Affordable Housing Award was shared by recipients Jerry Morris, Michael Foster and the Church at Clarendon as well as Dr. Leonard Hamlin Sr. And the Macedonia Baptist Church for their work towards meeting housing needs of the community.
AHS was pleased to present longtime housing advocate Charles “Charlie” Rinker with its 3rd Annual Ellen M. Bozman Affordable Housing Award on December 11, 2011. Mr. Rinker was celebrated by a crowd of 115 people there to honor his contributions to affordable housing in Arlington.
AHS was pleased to present Father Gerry Creedon with its 2nd Annual Ellen M. Bozman Affordable Housing Award on November 13, 2010. Fr. Creedon was surrounded by over 150 people honoring his contributions to affordable housing in Arlington.
On December 7th, 2009 AHS presented it first annual Ellen Bozman Award to AHC, Inc.'s Resident Services Program during the ceremony dinner at the Gates of Ballston Community Center in Arlington.
