MLK Day of Service

Make MLK Day of Service a day to learn about affordable housing in our community and how you can help make Arlington a place where people of all walks of life are welcome and can afford to live.

We’ll be teaming up with AHC, Inc. and APAH to bring you a session on affordable housing.

You’ll learn how imperative affordable housing is now that we live, work, educate, and play at home. Participants will hear how volunteer and advocacy opportunities have changed and adapted since COVID began through a virtual panel discussion on Zoom.

This panel will cover the statistics on how COVID has affected residents’ incomes, jobs, health, and more, while also introducing what is being done for those in need in Arlington County and how participants can help support our nonprofit housing providers as a volunteer or be an advocate for more affordable housing in our area

Registration is required for this event. This is an at-home, virtual activity.

What to expect:

• Today: Register for the opportunity by clicking the “Volunteer” button below.
• Friday, January 15th: Keep a look out for an email from the project sponsors with the Zoom link for Monday.
• 10:00 AM- 11:00 AM Monday, January 18th: Be prepared to join the alliance for Housing Solutions, APAH, and AHC Inc on Zoom for the advocacy panel.
• Don’t forget to share what you’ve learned about affordable housing in Arlington with the rest of your community on social media!
