AHS supports redevelopment at Howard Manor and Key Boulevard

Two housing proposals which come before the Arlington County Board in early 2011 could provide a total of 178 units of new or renovated affordable housing, while meeting other County goals. The Community Preservation and Development Corporation's (CPDC) proposed rehab of Howard Manor would preserve 76 units as committed affordable and expand 12 of the 28 efficiencies into 2-bedroom family units. AHS endorses the CPDC project and supports CPDC's request for a loan from the County's Affordable Housing Investment Fund (AHIF).

AHC's proposal for redeveloping its Key Boulevard site would double the number of units there, providing 82 committed affordable units within walking distance of a Metro station. (View AHS position on this project. )
